Weleda Skin Food

Weleda Skin Food | £9.04 30ml

Before I went to Mexico I had never experienced a long haul flight before, so when it came to choosing which products to take on the plane with me, I felt pretty clueless. Obviously,I turned to reading lots of different tips on blogs. I heard from so many different people that they hate how dehydrated their skin gets whilst on a long haul flight. I have pretty dry skin normally anyway, so I definitely had to pick up a moisturiser that I could apply whilst I was in the air. I found Amelia and Fleurs 'Top 10 Travel Essentials' video extremely helpful and right after I finished watching it I headed right over to Feel Unique *Haul Here* to purchase some of the items they spoke about, one of them being Skin Food from Weleda. There are three different sizes to choose from

Skin Food is described as a cream, but the texture is definitely more balm like and it smells very medicinal and herbal. I applied this to my face on the flight and I have to admit it did feel a little strange applying a cream this thick to my face and it did leave a slight greasy residue, but the results are so worth it! I also applied it to the horrible dry skin I had on my legs from the sunburn I got in Mexico and it worked wonders! It is now a firm favourite of mine and I've also heard the likes of Victoria Beckham, Adele, Alexa Chung and Rihanna love it too! If you suffer from dry skin, this will be your savior! I'm not using it too much right now, but I think this will be perfect to use as an overnight hydrating mask when the months start to get a little colder again or as a rich hand cream!

Have you tried this? What were your thoughts?

Grandad

Todays post is a little different from my usual beauty posts, I don't write too many personal posts. I would say I'm a fairly private person, so I do feel a little strange sometimes, but I do enjoy reading them myself, so I will try and write a few more in the future! This is probably the most personal post I've ever written so I'm slightly nervous! As you know it was Fathers Day on Sunday and on Bloglovin' I saw post after post of bloggers writing about how much they love their Dads and this was probably the first time I realised my Grandad wasn't going to ever come back. If you know me personally, you'll know that when I was growing up I spent SO much time with my Grandad, my biological Dad wasn't and still isn't the nicest of people, so my Grandad was the man I classed as my Dad.

He was a man that was so full of knowledge and taught me so much and took me on so many adventures. He was the one who taught me all about photography and it's now something I really enjoy. He also took me to Brighton often and it's still one of my favourite places ever! He was also SO romantic! On one of his and my Nans anniversaries he told her he was going to take her away for the weekend camping. So she packed all her camping clothes, only to find he was going to surprise her and take her to Paris instead! Obviously, she made him buy her a whole new wardrobe! ;)

His death was such a shock to me. He only went into Hospital with a broken hip and had a pretty awful ordeal. When you see all the drama on the news about how bad Hospitals/Doctors/Nurses are to the elderly, you don't actually realise the extent of it until it happens to someone close to you.  To cut a long story short, he ended up being in Hospital for 14 weeks whilst the Hospital continued to fail him. He caught four Hospital Infections, once whilst he was ICU. He was so so strong during his whole time in Hospital, but he sadly let go on 27th May.

When It's your Dad, you kind of feel like he's invincible and you'll never loose him and it's really hard to adjust to life without him. It was his Funeral yesterday and this was the first Funeral I'd ever been too and I found it SO hard. I'm sorry if posts are a little few and far between at the minute. I hope you all understand :) My Grandad never knew about my Blog, but he was all very interested in the internet, so I think he would of loved it! I felt like it was only right there was a post about him xx

My MAC Lipstick Collection | Part 1

MAC Lipstick Collection Blog Limited Edition

Lipsticks have alwaaays been my favourite. When I was little I used to always carry around a brown lipstick in a black velvet lipstick case and I just loved it (although my Mum said the shade was pretty horrid haha) The first two lipsticks I bought was a red shade from Collection 2000 and a super bright pink from Barry M! As I started to become older I became more and more obsessed with lipsticks, but obviously I couldn't wear them to School so they didn't get too much love!

MAC is a brand I became aware of as soon as I started to read blogs, but the price did put me off for a long time. I was genuinely shocked that some people paid that much for a lipstick! I went on holiday abroad for the first time in 2012, so I decided to pick up my first two products from MAC and one of those items was a lipstick in the shade Chatterbox and I instantly fell in love. I pretty much wore that lipstick every day on holiday!

Since then, I've accumulated a fair few MAC lipsticks and I now have over 20! I've wanted to share my MAC Lipstick Collection for the longest time now because these are one of my favourite posts to read, but I know some people really hate them! Like most people I was going to do the whole collection in one post, but I think it would be SUCH a long post, so I thought I'd split it up into categories. Today I'm going to show you the ones that are Limited Edition. I know some people are really not interested in hearing about past collections, as it can be near impossible to get hold of them, but I thought I'd tell you all about them anyway ;)

(L-R) Charmed I'm Sure, Betty Bright, Deeply Adored and Viva Glam Nicki

Charmed I'm Sure & Deeply Adored | Finish - Matte
These two are from my ultimate favourite collection ever which is the Marilyn Monroe collection and It was released back when I first got really into MAC. Charmed I'm Sure is a true dark red and Deeply Adored is a dark berry red. These were my first two red lipsticks from MAC and I still love them, but I don't like to use them much as I'm scared they will run out!

Betty Bright | Finish - Satin
This is from the 'Archie's Girls' collection that was released last year, it's a vibrant peach shade and perfect for Summer. The only thing I dislike about it is it clings to dry patches like there is no tomorrow and this makes me reach for it less than other shades, but I have started to use this a lot more now the months are getting warmer!

Viva Glam Nicki | Finish - Satin
All the proceeds of this lipstick goes to the MAC Aids Fund which I love, but it isn't something I use a lot. It's described as a 'bright yellow pink' which I would agree with, but I find it doesn't look that amazing on me because I am really pale, but I often wear it if I'm wearing fake tan!

I hope you enjoyed the first part of my collection! Click here to see part 2!

Avon Planet Spa Heavenly Hydration Hair Mask

Avon Planet Spa Heavenly Hydration Hair Mask Review
Planet Spa Heavenly Hydration Hair Mask | £5.50 but is currently £3.85

In the coming weeks I'm set to get my hair coloured for the first time in a few years, so I thought it would be best to give my hair a little TLC before I do so. If you've read my previous post about my hair, you'll be aware that I never used to take care of my hair at all and have taken the last few years trying to repair and grow it. Whilst I was doing this I loved trying out different hair masks, but annoyingly most I tried were pretty rubbish!

Avon are a brand that are really hit and miss and I think this does make people avoid them a bit, myself included. What I do love about Avon though, is they always seem to be reducing products making them a massive steal! I decided to pick up the Planet Spa Hydration Mask, because it was so cheap and I really wasn't expecting much.

The tub contains 200ml of product which is a pale green shade and it has a typical olive oil scent. To me it just looked like gloop and super unappealing and I was pretty apprehensive to use it, but it works wonders!

Avon Say
"A deep, intense moisture treatment for all hair types. Leaving hair soft, manageable and shiny."

The mask itself is really thick, which I love because I always find cheaper masks are always really runny and you end up using them up super quickly. They advise you to apply this to wet hair after shampooing, which I did do at first, but I actually found I had better results applying this BEFORE shampooing and leaving it on for around 10 minutes and rinsing, you are then left with the silkiest hair! I was so shocked at the results of this when I first used it and I'm still so in love with it.

I usually use this about once a week and it has really transformed my hair, making it a lot less frizzy and a lot more shiny! I don't think I've ever found a hair product before that I would class as holy grail, but I definitely would with this!

Have you tried this? What did you think? If not, what is your favourite hair mask?

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick in 08 Pink in Confidence

If you're a regular reader of Bellechaton, you'll definitely be aware of my obsession with buying lipsticks! YSL are a brand I've wanted to try for the longest time, mainly for their beautiful packaging, but obviously the prices are pretty hefty which has always put me off. Whilst I was in the Airport before jetting off to Mexico, I saw the YSL counter and as I had some money to spend I thought I'd finally bite the bullet and purchase a couple of things! The shade I was looking to purchase was 'Peach Passion' as I'd seen SO many bloggers say how lovely the lipstick is and I thought it would be perfect for summer, but the lady at the counter was pretty adamant I purchase the shade 'Pink in Confidence' instead so I just gave in. I am slightly regretting it now because this shade is a really simple 'my lips, but better' shade and I'm the sort of person who often likes to rock a bright lip!

The packaging is absolutely beautiful. It comes in a gold box (which got lost on the way home from Mexico. If like me, you like to keep the packaging you'll know how sad I am about it haha) The lipstick itself comes in a gold tube with the YSL logo engraved and it also has a strip of colour to match the shade in the tube. I'm so in love with the packaging, it looks so luxurious and It looks so nice on my dressing table!

The formula is really creamy and pigmented and leaves the lips feeling super moisturised which I really love. The only downside to a glossy finish is it means it won't be as long lasting, I find this lasts around 2-3 hours which isn't too bad. I'm really sensitive to scents which is actually really annoying and I haaaaaate the smell of these lipsticks! I've seen a few bloggers say the smell is fruity, but I don't know I really don't like it!

Overall, I do like YSL lipsticks. Do I think they're worth £25? NO. I'm still completely obsessed with MAC lipsticks and think they're amazing for the price! Although you can't beat the gorgeous YSL packaging! I do think I'd purchase another one if I had some money to spend at airport though!

Have you tried any lipsticks from YSL? What did you think of them?

P.S - Sadly, my lovely Grandad passed away last week. As you can imagine I'm very upset and at first I didn't think I would blog at all, but I feel it's actually a great escape sometimes. I probably won't get to post two posts a week though. I hope you all understand and thank you to everyone who sent me lovely messages regarding my Grandad you're all very lovely!
